Cancer Community Outreach

Our cancer community outreach seeks to increase emphasis on preventative care, early intervention, and ensuring that all our efforts to sensitize the public on cancer screening, early detection, cancer-related risk, and prevention are accepted in our communities.

Recently, we visited World Harvest Christian Centre, Manchester, to educate community members about cancer and to discuss the importance of screenings to at-risk groups. This is crucial to reduce late-stage cancer rates and to provide preventative measures to fight cancer.

Members of the church showed great interest, and the engagement level was encouraging. Over 15 people signed up to be Answer Cancer Champions and agreed that the cancer community outreach, based on community needs, should be consistent to get the desired change.

As noted in our strategy to spread awareness, Wonderfully Made Woman maintained the use of Pidgin English to communicate easily with our community members. We also shared information about breast cancer screening and provided them with information about cancer support networks and educational resources in the community.

We thank the World Harvest Christian Centre for opening their doors to us and being a gracious host. We had a great time.
